A Mathematical Definition of Synthetic Emergence
نویسنده
چکیده
The aim of this paper is to define synthetic emergence in a domain independent fashion. The mathematical definition of the first kind of synthetic emergence will be given by the consideration of closed and open subsets of the limit of design systems. A brief sketch of design systems will be also given by using the concept of information flow from Barwise and Seligman.

Observability transition in multiplex networks
We extend the observability model to multiplex networks. We present mathematical frameworks, valid under the treelike ansatz, able to describe the emergence of the macroscopic cluster of mutually observable nodes in both synthetic and real-world multiplex networks. We show that the observability transition in synthetic multiplex networks is discontinuous. In real-world multiplex networks instea...
متن کاملHalf-Century Journey from Synthetic Organic Chemistry to Mathematical Stereochemistry through Chemoinformatics
My half-century journey started from synthetic organic chemistry. During the first stage of my journey, my interest in stereochemistry was initiated through the investigation on the participation of steric effects in reactive intermediates, cylophanes, strained heterocycles, and organic compounds for photography. In chemoinformatics as the next stage of the journey, I proposed the concept of im...
متن کاملDensity near zero
Let $S$ be a dense subsemigroup of $(0,+infty)$. In this paper, we state definition of thick near zero, and also we will introduce a definition that is equivalent to the definition of piecewise syndetic near zero which presented by Hindman and Leader in [6]. We define density near zero for subsets of $S$ by a collection of nonempty finite subsets of $S$ and we investigate the conditions un...
متن کاملMining Diversity on Networks
Despite the recent emergence of many large-scale networks in different application domains, an important measure that captures a participant’s diversity in the network has been largely neglected in previous studies. Namely, diversity characterizes how diverse a given node connects with its peers. In this paper, we give a comprehensive study of this concept. We first lay out two criteria that ca...
متن کاملThe empty set, the singleton, and the ordered pair
For the modern set theorist the empty set ∅, the singleton {a}, and the ordered pair 〈x, y〉 are at the beginning of the systematic, axiomatic development of set theory, both as a field of mathematics and as a unifying framework for ongoing mathematics. These notions are the simplest building blocks in the abstract, generative conception of sets advanced by the initial axiomatization of Ernst Ze...
